Behind the brand.
Trained in clinical psychology, Janine Vakharia joined her family business in 2018 before creating . She brings her eye for design to every pair, from the first sketch to the final details.

Why nine?
A few years of learning and working in a family business dealing with export of women and children’s sandals to European countries with many friends and family asking for pairs and why we weren’t selling this quality in India led to Nine being born.

Handcrafted in Mumbai, India by locally skilled craftsmen, our footwear is inspired by Italian & French designs with comfort and precise finish to the Leather.
THE CRAFT
Made by hand, here in Mumbai.
Every pair begins with a sketch and paper pattern, then takes shape in the hands of a Mistry (head designer). From the first pattern to the last stitch, immense care goes into the details you wear.
Shaped by skilled hands
Paper patterns guide the leather cutting. Each design is assembled on a last (a foot-shaped form) and refined as needed.
Finished with care
Each pair is finished to suit its leather, checked and carefully packed for you.
